U.V.S. Nirmana is an engineering puzzle game from Coincidence, the creators of Kaizen: A Factory Story and the inventors of the Zach-like. Set off on the Unreturning Void Ship Nirmana as it continues a journey of uncountable eons toward the edge of the universe. Stop by distant worlds and ancient civilizations, helping them as part of your pilgrimage with your companions, the Renunciants.
Sort of a shallow Zachlike. The puzzles are quite constrained so the possible answers are few. This both prevents going deep down dead-ends but also robs some of the challenge. Still, short and sweet so do recommend.
The "plot" makes no sense if you're looking for that.
This is a great freaking zachlike. Levels are challenging to complete, which I prefer over the bulk of challenge residing in metric optimization. The finale was climactic and subverted expectations, which is hard to do in a signal processing puzzle game. A lot of fun.
Finally, a Zack game that I actually beat. It's a very fun circuit board puzzle game which I very much enjoy. The solutions are quite restrictive because of the physical constraints, but you can typically manage to optimize a few things after solving it. Great: art and music perfectly match a journey to the end of the universe.
Good: puzzles are fairly constrained, but enjoyable.
Lacking: the only intro/backstory comes from the Steam page, instead of anything in-game.
Overall: it doesn't reach the lofty heights of many other Zachtronics/Coincidence titles, but I still had fun.
