The Infernal Masquerade is a gothic horror PS2 -inspired take on the classic minesweeper game along with resource management, where taking risks and doing speedy reveals gives you access to helper items that make it easier to find the hidden, masked vampires.
It is what it says it is - minesweeper but with a very cool twist of hunting vampires with that old school playstation feel. If you never understood the original minesweeper, you may not enjoy this. Fun game and worth the low cost to add it to your list of games.
A vampire minesweeper with satisfying gameplay and great atmosphere!
I love vampires, I love minesweeper, I love weird games, this game was made for me oh my goodness. I adore how immersive it is walking around the people, considering their clues.
It's really rather silly and it shouldn't work but somehow it does. I thought maybe having to walk around the room to play Minesweeper would get tedious but it doesn't. It actually feels kinda immersive. It's very unpolished and probably won't be for everyone but there is something to this game. It's worth a look for anyone into Minesweeper or logic...
The faux-retro aesthetic is a negative, the game gives clues based on hair texture and eye color and mask components but the fidelity is poor enough to make reading them difficult at times. Is that blob of black pixels on top of someone's head a horn or a feather?
But it does deliver on a novel premise and the price is right, I don't regret playing...
