In The Coffin of Andy and Leyley, you follow the story of Andrew and Ashley, siblings who have been quarantined in their house for months and are slowly starving to death. Everyone in the building appears to have contracted a contagious disease and are now locked in their apartments by armed guards. The guards do keep promising to bring food, but none ever comes, so eventually they have to resort to drastic measures.
The Coffin of Andy and Leyley is one of those games that is incredibly easy to misunderstand if you judge it entirely by its surface. At first glance, it appears to be an intentionally provocative horror game built around two deeply dysfunctional siblings, cannibalism, murder, cults, demons, disturbing imagery, and deliberately uncomfortable implications....
quite possibly the worst 8 dollar purchase i've ever made in my life, the artwork and the storyline is so damn good but the community is so committed to justifying incest as if it's not blatantly portrayed as a bad thing that andrew doesn't want in the game. regardless, indie games are always fire
“How many taboo and controversial topics do we want to include in our game?” - “Yes”
I was both appalled and entertained.
If you are into grotesque and morbid themes, then you will enjoy this game. It is just sick and disgusting from start to finish.
Many eyeballs will see the incest and assume this is a fetish game. It is not. You are not supposed to like these two nor their relationship. View it through a lens untainted and you will see this is a good game.
