The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a game full of potential, and I wish I could see more of that potential realised in this first entry. The HD-2D house style of Square Enix shines at its absolute peak, but it isn't given the story to deliver the best that it possibly can. Foundationally sound, and positively ripe for a sequel that blows...

Overview
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is an action RPG set in the world of Philabieldia - a beautiful but savage land dominated by warring beast tribes. Humanity’s last bastion is the Kingdom of Huther, protected by its tall walls and Princess Heuria’s powerful magic. When a mysterious set of ruins is discovered, a young adventurer named Elliot and his fairy companion Faie are sent off on a journey to investigate. What seems like a simple, if dangerous, mission soon becomes a grand saga that will be woven across time and space.

We have on our hands an enjoyable game with some of the worst audio direction in videogame history.
This game wasn’t quite perfect for me, true. But if you’re looking for an action RPG full of clever ideas, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales might be perfect for you.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales delivers an effortlessly fun and mechanically satisfying experience, making it an ideal pick for anyone who prefers games where pure gameplay reigns supreme over all other elements.
A disappointing hotchpotch of borrowed ideas that pays homage to some of the best games of the 16-bit era but forgets to add anything of its own.
