Sulfur is a modern old-school action-adventure: Outsmart enemies, find treasure, improve weapons, harness powers. Delve deeper, find answers, make it end.
Extraction shooter rogue-like with cooking system, extensive gun modding and frog-dudes who can twerk you to death. Also a biker woman who's perpetually pregnant. And mushrooms. Lots of mushrooms. Buy this game right now.
The core of the game is amazing, but the developers have been consistently making nerfs that are bewildering.
I'll use two of the most recent changes at the time of writing this as an example:
1: Melee kills no longer reward the gun you're holding EXP if you haven't shot the enemy with the gun at least once. This essentially makes grinding weapon levels...
such a good game bogged down by annoying developer practices.
Devs seem to insist on nerfing anything remotely fun for the sake of "balance" in a currently single-player game.
Guns feel good, combat is challenging and varied, and the story is interesting.
4/5
Played this game because of the shorts, I played it over an entire weekend, it was a VERY good weekend.
Also, one of the few games i can actually play at a semi-constant 60FPS with my system, very light game.
Yey!!!
I bought this game in very early access cause i thought the game looked very unique and promising and i was not disappointed with how the game turned out after some major updates, amazing looter-shooter dungeon crawler with a lovely 'flat' artstyle!
