The Awakened King is a tough nut to crack. On the one hand, we have extensive side content and brilliantly designed visuals, and on the other hand, negligible story content when it comes to the main storyline and still poor optimization.

Overview

The One True King has awakened and is out for blood. Corrupted by the Root during his near-death slumber, the mad king sees betrayal at every turn and is on a rampage of revenge. Since his castle first arrived in a Dran coastal town, the tides are angry and the weather is chaotic, surfacing all manner of creatures from the depths and leaving many mysteries in its wake. This DLC adds the Ritualist archetyp, a new storyline, dungeons and area based in the world of Losomn. It includes a wide array of new weapons, modifications, amulets, and rings along with new bosses, characters and fearsome creatures to encounter.

Remnant II: The Awakened King offers a significant amount of new content and improvements to the base game, and new areas, items and NPCs provide players with a fresh and exciting experience, but unfortunately does not fix existing problems. The increased trait cap and new archetype add reasonable depth to character development and offer new playstyles...
The Awakened King isn't a terrible addition to the base game, even if its highlights don't quite reach the same highs. While the content is decent and offers some fun new gameplay options, it's nothing amazing.
Remnant 2 The Awakened King is a solid DLC that follows the path of Remnant 2 success. The additions touch on the longevity of the game, increase the level cap and nothing more. Nothing revolutionary, but everything works perfectly.
Remnant II: The Awakened King gives players a new adventure beyond the Worldstone with new loot and a new Archetype. What it doesn't give is a good reason why you should play it other than the fact you bought it.
