I played the original Raptor many years ago—and then kept playing it for years after that. It was one of my favorite games, and it holds a very special place in my memories.
So when I saw that Raptor had two versions on Steam, I thought: “Hey, why not relive some of that childhood nostalgia with a newer, supposedly improved version?”
Oh, how naive I...
This game is fun enough, but it's nowhere near as good as Demonstar, the other game from Scott Host. The player progression is really bad, and it feels bad to buy anything ever since the repairs are too expensive. Also the powerups you get in missions are too rare for the missions you're playing.
