Play it now. No microtransactions. No battle passes. Just pure FPS arena fun.
As much as I have my own personal gripes with the game, I am sick of seeing the influx of negative reviews. The game is cheaper to play now than before and you get all the cosmetics ever released. I prefer this game to live personally, I do think I'm an outlier in that regard and I know I haven't played recently (before spawn stack patch) but this game...
You gotta respect ID for removing all microtransactions from their game.
This may look like one of those generic hero shooters, but once you've actually spent the time playing it it's pretty clear that deep down, it's still 100% a Quake game. Each character has their own gimmicks but it still plays like Quake more than anything in spite of that. If you're looking to get into the series you're better off spending the $10...
