This is a great way to become familiar with commonly-foraged plants, and the language used to describe and identify them. As with all foraging, there will be plants that can and can't be found wherever you may live- but the game has done a wonderful job...
Game has a quest at day 3 that can soft-lock you and make you restart because the devs didn't think people would want to gather plants in their plant gathering game. Avoid until it's fixed.
I played the demo this morning and it was just so adorable! All the information on the cards was really cool. What the flowers / leaves were good / used for. Salves, teas and such. Just generally so much information on the plants and flowers. I decided to purchase the game only to find that all of that was gone... Now when you harvest, there's no "used...
I am catching myself recognising plants out in the wild already, after only six hours of this game. It's very cozy, the characters are lovely, I can't wait to see more of this!
Out and About is a truly wonderful, cozy game.
I love this game and also the fact that when you identify plants, you can see what they look like and read their names in your own language.
It’s a shame the game isn’t available entirely in, say, Czech or Slovak, and that the only language options are English and German. I’d happily recommend this game...
