No-Skin is a roguelike game characterized by a horror atmosphere and a smooth yet complex gameplay. Face the horrors that the house hides behind every corner and discover who the No-Skin Man truly is!
NO-SKIN is a game I only heard of due to the 11 hour story explained video by Flawed Peacock on YouTube, but I really wish I'd heard of the game sooner! It's a game with a lot in its underbelly, a massive rabbit hole, something I'd compare to games like Outer Wilds or Void Stranger, but only in that regard. As you unlock more and more and get hints...
Proof that your art can be self-indulgent, needlessly edgy and yet still fantastic.
First of all, what the game is - a horror roguelite. That's important, and that's step one. Step two is the story, the lore, horror and the general atmosphere. Edgy, self indulgent and captivating, but also not to an overzealous extent. The main gameplay loop may appear quite shallow at first and admittedly it's not some genre revolution or evolution...
Having finished the game now, I can only recommend it with all my heart. The mechanics aren't super complex but there is enough to have fun as a game. And as a story? It more than exceeds the quality you'd expect from the price tag.
If you love esoteric narratives that slowly unfold in deeper complexity? A definitive recommend.
