Overview

The “Top Gun: Maverick” free expansion contains: A “Top Gun: Maverick Edition” livery for the F/A-18E Super Hornet. Three training missions for the Super Hornet that will allow you to master radical flight maneuvers including unrestricted take-offs, split S maneuvers, and low altitude, high-speed maneuvering through complex terrain. Five high-speed, low-level challenges that require utmost skill to navigate just above mountains and traverse through canyons. A carrier deck landing challenge, one of the most demanding operations in the world of military aviation. A never-before-unveiled hypersonic aircraft that can attain speeds of Mach 10 and altitudes greater than 150,000 feet above sea level. A mission to roar into the stratosphere.

Reception
The final challenge will be a fun throwback for Flight Simulator X fans, as players are tasked with landing their aircraft on a moving carrier ship's deck, just as Top Gun's Navy pilots do.
Top Gun: Maverick certainly won’t put as many demands on your time as, say, Elden Ring, but it’s absolutely worth spending a couple of hours in it. And when the electronic guitar of the original Top Gun theme kicks in, it’s like returning to the 1980s for an hour or two.
There are also five other challenges, all centered around flying very low and very fast, and one challenge that requires players to land on an aircraft carrier. The expansion also introduces a new hypersonic aircraft that can reach Mach 10 and altitudes higher than 150,000 feet. To go along with that, there’s also a new mission to take your flights...
Elsewhere, there's a mission to reach the stratosphere, as well as five "high-speed, low-level" challenges that are also focused on navigating tricky, mountainous terrain without crashing and exploding and dying.
