The classic series takes a leap forward in visual presentation in Mega Man 11 with a 2.5D design direction introducing beautiful, completely hand-drawn characters and environments. A freshly redesigned Mega Man takes on Dr. Wily’s berserk machines, defeating Robot Master bosses and taking their weapons, in an ever-evolving fight for justice with new and unique enemy designs.
Although it's a solid, well-made game, it ultimately left me unsatisfied.
Mega Man 11 delivers an old-school Mega Man experience with upgraded visuals and new gameplay features that will make it appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers.
The Mega Man series is back, and with Mega Man 11's ending indicating it's here to stay, I couldn't be happier. Even when taking this title's problems into account, Mega Man 11 has finally given the series forward momentum for the first time in years, and I can't wait to see where Capcom does with the famous Blue Bomber next.
Even if it could stand to benefit from a little something extra, this is still a triumphant return for the Blue Bomber. Mega Man 11 is another stellar entry in the series, plain and simple.
It may not be the smoothest transition — purists may shun the new mechanics, while unfamiliar players may wonder how the game was ever interesting without them — but the bottom line is that Capcom has found a way to keep Mega Man alive without banking solely on retro gaming nostalgia.
