I won’t lie—after all the hate, I approached Marvel’s Wolverine with extreme skepticism. My expectations were practically nonexistent, and I assumed from the start that I was in for a total piece of junk. Overview

Marvel's Wolverine is a single-player action-adventure game and a standalone entry in the Marvel's Spider-Man series, sharing continuity with those titles while telling its own self-contained story. Players control Logan/Wolverine in close-quarters combat, using his adamantium claws against enemies drawn from the X-Men comic book mythology.

Apart from its pretty visuals, Marvel's Wolverine has simply nothing to offer. There's no particular spark here, since the task was to appeal to the widest possible audience, strictly according to Sony's GOST. Insomniac Games has produced a big-budget analogue of the licensed games that used to come out right on the heels of film premieres.
At its best, Marvel’s Wolverine delivers exactly what the character demands: fast, brutal combat, excellent animations, impactful feedback, and a Rage system that adds meaningful decisions between aggression and survival.
Marvel’s Wolverine is a game for those who want something old school: linear, entertaining, and lasting just long enough before moving on to the thousand other releases of this crazy gaming period. Graphically, the title is incredibly satisfying, but the game stumbles on code-level messiness. An Insomniac slip we wouldn’t have expected.
Being Wolverine is a bloody good time, but repetitive combat, excessive hand-holding and a lack of originality stop this from being anything more than decent.
