Mahou Arms is an anime-inspired character-action hack and slash that tells the story of a magical girl paramilitary group fighting back against an alien invasion.
I don't write many reviews, so apologies ahead of time if this ends up a rambling mess. I just felt somewhat compelled to, seeing this games Recent Reviews average as low as it is. It seems like a rare circumstance where me and my single review could matter a lot, so here I am.
For full transparency and context, I am not far in the game despite 8 hours...
The game itself has potential. However, at the current price, I honestly can't recommend it.
It feels unfinished, lack of content, and more like an early-access project that somehow decided it was ready to charge full price.
I'd recommend waiting for a significant update or a big sale. At the current price, there are plenty of better games you can spend...
Bought this game years ago because it has a lot potential for an indie game. It didn't disappoint me at all; reminds me like I'm playing a PlayStation 1&2 games.
Pros:
Gameplay feels great!
- Combat and movement feels natural. A lot of effort was made into making the combat feel like an AAA game.
- Art, animation and music works well with the gameplay...
Its a good game. its a hack and slash with some culture lol. if you get the patch its better. I have two complaints. one it the veriaty fo clothes is way too small and the game is super short 10 hours of story and 2 or 3 of side content.
Could not get into it, feels unfinished in all aspects.
Frustrating too, as the gameplay footage made me believe it would be fun.
