Homicipher is an adventure horror game where you’ll decipher a language, fall in love and escape. Players will face various horrifying men in this strange world. Your aim is to decipher their language and eventually find a way to escape. Meanwhile, a peculiar feeling also starts to bloom.
I originally bought Homicipher because I was interested in the language-decoding mechanic and the horror theme, but what really made me stay was the characters. Their personalities, development, and the way they interact with the protagonist ended up being the most memorable part of the game for me.
Honestly, this game made me more sad than scared....
This game is amazing. It's literary. Seriously, I could write an entire essay on how the different characters represent different coping mechanisms, even though no one would want to read it. The game satisfies both the desire for psychological metaphors and just playing a fun horror game with language decoding.
For people who prefer a cohesive story,...
The most interesting mechanic I've ever seen in an otome.

i don’t usually write reviews but this game is so good i had to
it somehow combines basically everything i love: horror, japanese culture, cute characters and a lovely dating sim with one of the most interesting and fun mechanics i’ve ever seen in a game, the language deciphering mechanic is genuinely so cool and i’ve never seen anything quite like...
The different angle this game takes by the MC needing to decipher the ghost language is really engaging and makes this visual novel special. It was entertaining and certainly leaves room for some good head scratches, which makes the ~oooh, that is, what it means ~ moments even better. It is dark, gritty and atmospheric (and to a certain degree wholesome...
