Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster was released individually in the Japan and Asia regions. Outside of these regions, only Final Fantasy X has a physical release, but it includes a download code for Final Fantasy X-2. Those who pick up both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 on PlayStation Vita can swap saves between systems to transfer data between the standalone Vita version and the PlayStation 3 counterpart.
Final Fantasy X | X-2 Remastered on Switch 2 is an upgrade over 2019's original Switch release; however, the question of whether or not I recommend it, unfortunately, does not have a straightforward answer. It comes down to the frankly bizarre decisions Square-Enix have made with this (and the majority of all their Switch 2 updates for that matter)...
While it’s inconceivable that such an essential fix was missing for so long, it’s amazing that it finally exists. Yes, the upgraded music and visuals are lovely. But being able to zip through all those random battles (or turn them off!) is a total game changer.
If for some reason you have never experienced these games, get this collection. It is more than worth your time to see a genuine piece of JRPG history.
Nothing new, but nothing wrong with this old but great classic RPG.
A great comeback for an amazing game: if you didn't manage to play Final Fantasy X back in the days, you definitely should play it now.
