Overview

In EA SPORTS UFC 4 the fighter you become is shaped by your fight style, your achievements, and your personality. Develop and customize your character through a unified progression system across all modes. Go from unknown amateur to UFC superstar in the new Career Mode, experience the origins of combat sports in two all-new environments; The Kumite and The Backyard, or challenge the world in new Blitz Battles or Online World Championships to become the undisputed champ. In gameplay, fluid clinch-to-strike combinations offer more responsive and authentic stand-up gameplay, while overhauled takedown and ground mechanics deliver more control in those key phases of the fight. No matter how, or where, you play EA SPORTS UFC 4 puts ‘you’ at the center of every fight.

Freed somewhat from the seasonal release schedule that EA Sports follows with its mega-successful FIFA and Madden NFL series, the sporting game giant steps into the octagon once every two years with its digital interpretation of the hyper-violent Ultimate Fighting Championship.
A competent and crunching MMA sequel that brings key improvements to the Octagon but stumbles when the action moves to the ground.
EA Sports UFC 4 is obviously made by people with a true love and respect for MMA, but it's also pretty clear they didn't have a ton of resources to work with. The action is better than ever, but the flash and depth you expect from an EA Sports title is MIA. This year's UFC game comes out of its corner hot and provides a few exciting moments, but doesn't...
An excellent fighting game and a formidable exponent of the real sport, with a little innovation compared to the previous game.
