Overview

Depression Quest is an interactive fiction game where you play as someone living with depression. You are given a series of everyday life events and have to attempt to manage your illness, relationships, job, and possible treatment. This game aims to show other sufferers of depression that they are not alone in their feelings, and to illustrate to people who may not understand the illness the depths of what it can do to people.

Reception

This game Is ground zero for how a lot of people learned and got roped into gamergate, the reason I've seen certain people talk online like they've got to sleep with one eye open every day. after the gamergate controversy, the fact that it was over such a huge mess of a controversy Is wild to me but hilarious at the same time, I wish humanity can go...

I found this this story to be a very on point representation of how depression creeps and the weight and hopelessness it brings with it. Depression looks different for everyone and this isn't a depression tutorial, but I certainly saw myself in many of the scenes.

It's been 12 years since the devs released this, hope y'all found a path.
