Creatures of Aether is a new dungeon crawling card combat game set in the Aether universe, where you collect creatures and use them in tactical 1v1 battles. Set in the same world as the pixel art platform fighting game Rivals of Aether, in Creatures of Aether you let your cards do the fighting rather than your fists. It’s currently in development by the Rivals of Aether team and Tako Boy Studios (creators of Candies ‘n Curses) and sees you battling your way through dungeons and collecting creatures in card form. Creatures all have their unique stats and Rival cards have powerful unique abilities.
I've played this game since the official launch of it on mobile (2020), so I actually have more hours than shown on Steam. I know this is not the kind of project Aether Studios can upkeep alongside their bigger games in the same franchise, but I still love it.
I however miss my wife Guadua and husband Master Cai ):
PROS - Charming pixel art and creature designs. - Easy to learn gameplay with some strategic depth. - Fun to experiment with different creatures. CONS - Gameplay becomes repetitive over time. - Long-term progression isn't particularly rewarding. - Doesn't offer enough variety to stay engaging for extended sessions. VERDICT Creatures of Aether left me...
This just an advanced version of Skystones from those old Skylanders games. No one plays it but the bots are fun to play against
Reboots after the tutorial and doesn't get past the loading screen afterwards
