Reception

For those willing to tolerate its quirks and accept the rough edges, Control Resonant offers much to admire. It's unlike anything else you'll see this year, perhaps even next year and the many more after that, and that counts for something.

You may find other action games that play better than Control Resonant, but you’ve never played an action game that’s quite like Control Resonant. At a time where players desire fresh and unique takes on familiar ideas, I can’t imagine a better exhibit for that desire.

Control Resonant delivers an excellent blend of paranormal action and exploration, though a few underdeveloped mechanics keep it from fully realizing its potential.

The thing I really like about Control Resonant is that it feels so distinct from most recent AAA games. It’s always bringing new methods to travel, explore, fight and design the environment, from start to finish.

Remedy's Control Resonant trades guns for Dylan Faden's fluid melee combat in a beautifully twisted Manhattan. Blending deep ARPG action with stunning visuals, this masterful sequel is easily their best game yet.
