Chinatris is a Tetris-like game about Chinese characters where you combine different Chinese character components to create new ones. To clear each stage, you must create the target characters. While playing you will meet many new and surprising characters that will give you a different look of Chinese culture.

To be honest - I downloaded it just to see if I stood a slim chance, since I'm right now on the way to HSK1 (total mandarin beginner). Even though I wished the game would let me see the playfield during pausing, I have to admit: It's fun and it actually helps me learning the structure of compound characters!

An interesting concept but almost impossible to play if you don't know the basic of chinese writting. A simple guide with those information would have been nice. Going past the most basic characters, the game does not do a good job teaching anything new. The problem is that the fast-paced nature of TETRIS does not work very well in combination with the complexity of the language.
